I am Atan from Singapore, I am a native Singaporean. I was born in the western part of Singapore, which is my hometown. Now let me share with you some history of western Singapore.
First of all, I will introduce you to Bukit Panjang. The above picture is the Bukit Panjang in Singapore. This is a picture from the 1980s. In the past, there was no government HDB, and residents in this area usually shop here. Many commodities in this neighborhood are usually busy in the morning, and residents in this neighborhood will buy food, fish and meat from the wet market here.
I still miss the old Bukit Panjang a little bit. Everyone lives in the same village and has lived here for decades. When we met, we drank a cup of coffee and talked about some big and small stories that happened in the village. Now these are no longer there. Moving to the government HDB flats are all new faces. Everything has to be started from the beginning, a little less intimacy between people.
Now Bukit Panjang has taken on a new look.
Bukit Panjang Plaza
The mall has Junction 10, Bukit Panjang Plaza, and a new shopping Hillton Mall. Usually residents in this area will go to Bukit Panjang Plaza to buy some daily necessities, because the price of this Shopping mall is usually cheaper, and parking is more convenient.

Bukit Panjang Secondary School
Bukit Panjang Primary School
The most special thing about Bukit Panjang is that there are two schools, Bukit Panjang Primary School and Secondary School. These two schools are one of the top ten famous schools in Singapore!
Murugan Hill Temple
In Bukit Panjang there is also an Indian temple, Murugan Hill Temple, which is a historic Indian temple. From my memory, this temple has a history of several decades. If I remember correctly, it should have started in 1971. This Hindu temple is quite lively every weekend or festival of Indians.
